PROJECT SPECIFICATIONS:
Based on the success of a previous development, officials at Oak Ridge National Laboratory turned to a proven partner for its new building, a 227,000 square foot multi-program research facility (MRF). The MRF is a highly secure facility for research critical to national security. The $42.8 million-dollar MRF was delivered under a design-buiding process, allowing overlap of design and construction to minimize the time frame. On-time completion was essential due to the Class C-3 security environment maintained throughout the project.
The facility includes approximately 15,000 square feet of state-of-the-art audiovisual capabilities and an energy plant.
The facility is LEED Gold certified by the U.S. Green Building Council.
